Rockaway, NJ, February 02, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Team Bulldog, a New Jersey based mountain biking team, in cooperation with its title sponsor Cycle Craft, today announced the launch of a junior mountain bike and cyclocross racing program for riders between the ages 10 and 19. The goal of Team Bulldog's Under 19 (“U19”) program is to develop the next generation of mountain bike and cyclocross racers in New Jersey.
The 2” of rain on Friday, did not dampen the spirits of the 70+ kids who came out and raced their bikes at Team Bulldog’s 3rd Annual High School and Middle School Championships and Kids’ Race on Saturday, May 10, 2008. The rain broke overnight and the racers and promoters were greeted with overcast skies and a course that was in great condition. The varied terrain of Kittatinny Valley State Park in Andover New Jersey allowed us to create five different courses.
Although the forecast indicated impending wetness, May 13, 2006, turned out to be a perfect day for mountain bike racing. Located at the beautiful Kittatinny Valley State Park in rural Andover, NJ, Team Bulldog/Campmor held the first ever New Jersey State High School and Middle School Mountain Bike Championships. Although Team Bulldog has an eleven year history of race promotion, and mountain bike racing in NJ has been going on for almost 20 years, there had yet to be a championship of these sorts…until 2006. Held on 4 different courses (with sections that overlapped), the event offered Middle School A (experienced) and B (novice) Races and High School A and B Races, and both girls and boys fields were offered for each race.
