Team Bulldog is more than just a racing team. In the past 20 years, we’ve grown from a group of junior racers (under 18) to a well-established team that includes men and women of all ages and abilities. With 38 members on our current roster, new members join our ranks on a regular basis; over the past year our emphasis has been to develop a strong U19 contingent, which is currently 12 riders strong. Team Bulldog prides itself on our commitment to our sport, our community and the environment.

Giving Back to Our Sport

Team Bulldog is actively involved in the Campmor H2H Regional Mountain Bike Series, promoting and improving the cross-country mountain bike racing forum in our region. Our Annual Bulldog Rump served as the fourth race of the Campmor Series and draws racers from all across the Tri-State area and beyond. Additionally, the Bulldog Rump is also be on the National AMBC calendar, as well as being one of four races of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships.  In 2006, we added the New Jersey State High School and Middle School Mountain Bike Championships to our race promotion calendar, which is a pretty awesome event for the kids. Along with that race, we have a kids’ race, ages 5 and up.As an official United States Cycling (USAC) member, Team Bulldog promotes races annually in the four-race Augusta Cyclocross Race Series, including the New Jersey State Championship Cyclocross Race. With our mountain biking background, we bring a special element to the ‘cross scene, as well as some new competitors. Each race that our team sponsors provides an excellent opportunity to promote our sponsors. Hundreds of flyers are distributed by hand, and through internet downloads, t-shirts are printed and banners are flown, all bearing our sponsors’ logos. Racers visit our site, which prominently showcases our sponsors and their links, both before and after the race.

Junior (U19) Development

We are proud of our genesis as a junior racing team, and today we continue that heritage through our U19 program. The goal of Team Bulldog's U19 program is to develop the next generation of mountain bike and cyclocross racers in New Jersey. We hope to impart on these racers our core beliefs in sportsmanship, camaraderie, and success through hard work, having fun, dedication and giving it your best.Group RidesGroup rides are an excellent forum to introduce people to the sport of cycling and to keep them involved; it also serves as an avenue to recruit new members for Team Bulldog and to train riders to be knowledgeable and safe. Team Bulldog also holds large group rides on a weekly basis, each rider wearing his/ her team jersey and proudly displaying our sponsors’ logos.

Team Bulldog is a member of USA Cycling, IMBA (International Mountain Bike Association), NJBA (New Jersey Bicycle Association), and JORBA (Jersey Off-Road Bicycle Association).

Team Unity

Year after year, Team Bulldog attracts new members while maintaining its existing ones.  As a team we have bi-monthy meetings to which all members are invited to attend. However, U19 members are not required to attend our meetings. At these meetings, members get a chance to discuss not only promotion but they also discuss races, rides, and cycling trips. It is this commitment to the community which allows team members to embrace both the team and its sponsors. Spawning from this team loyalty is the positive promotion of our sponsors, which is above all the goal of sponsorship.

Giving Back To Our Community

For several years, members of Team Bulldog volunteered their time to participate in Green Township’s Summer Day Camp for children in grades Kindergarten through fifth. Important topics, such as bike safety and care, were taught to the campers. Cycling as a sport was also addressed with the older children.  Sponsors of Team Bulldog generously donated number plates, medals and stickers for the children and they were thrilled with it. They enjoyed seeing the Team Bulldog members in their uniforms and parents duly noted our sponsors.

Trail Building and Maintenance

Fulfilling a long-standing tradition of giving back to the trails where we ride and race, Team Bulldog contributes hundreds of hours of trail maintenance each year.  In the past fifteen-plus years, we have donated nearly 3,000 hours of trail maintenance and creation to the parks of New Jersey. As a team, we were an integral part of opening Kittatinny Valley State Park to mountain biking and have adopted this park to care for its trails. Team Bulldog also helped restore mountain biking to Waywayanda State Park after a six-year hiatus. Additonally, Mountain Creek Ski Resort, Vernon, NJ, was re-opened to mountain biking with a cross country trail system created primarily through the efforts of Team Bulldog. We are proud that our sponsors are associated with our works throughout the state.
